About Us
The Cher Varya Group is a family owned group of companies that both develops and invests in property across the South West, primarily in Cornwall. We seek quality and sustainability in all we do. From putting our people first as Living Wage employers through to our awards for environmentally friendly developments.
Our story starts in 1975 and you can read about it here…
What’s in the name?
Derived from the Cornish – ‘Cher’ meaning ‘state’ and ‘Varya’ meaning ‘altered’ our name reflects our transition over the years from a business focused on leisure properties to residential and then commercial investment and development. We are proud of our Cornish roots and source locally where possible.
Putting People First
We are a Living Wage Foundation member. This means we are committed to paying all our staff the ‘real’ Living Wage.
Quality is what we do
All our developments are quality driven and inspected along the way with warranties you can trust.
Our new build projects will all be registered with the LABC Warranty Scheme, this means you can be confident in the quality of our work and the support and protection that comes with it.
Cher Varya has contributed in both time and expertise to the voluntary and charity sector through it’s support of Real Baby Milk (Pollenn CIC), a Cornwall-based social enterprise. Lesley, already a qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor with the National Childbirth Trust charity, has devoted part of her time to the company and joined as a Board member of Real Baby Milk in 2012/13. Before this, Lesley had been active in helping to support the formation of the first volunteer Breastfeeding Peer Support Group in Cornwall. She also took on the voluntary role of Chair to the Sure Start Trevu (Camborne) Partnership Board for 2 years.
